“The Casual Vacancy” Sales Numbers Released
J.K. Rowling‘s The Casual Vacancy sold 125,000 copies in its opening week, which definitely impressive, but it failed to pass Dan Brown‘s record for The Lost Symbol (which is 550,946).
The Casual Vacancy‘s sales did not surpass Rowling’s own Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, which sold 2.6 million copies on its first day out.
A spokesman from Little, Brown commented on the sales figures, “Sales across print and eBook editions have exceeded our expectations.”
