Scot Harvath Synopses: The Lions of Lucerne by Brad Thor is the first book in the Scot Harvath series. While in Utah, the President of the United States has been kidnapped and his Secret Service detail massacred. Only one agent has survived – ex-Navy SEAL Scot Harvath. He doesn’t buy the line officials have given that Middle Eastern terrorists are behind the attack and begins his own campaign to find the truth and get his revenge. But now, framed for murder by a sinister cabal, Harvath takes his fight to the towering mountains of Switzerland – and teams up with beautiful Claudia Mueller of the Swiss Federal Attorney’s Office. Together they must fight through the subzero temperatures and sheer heights of treacherous Mount Pilatus – where their only chance for survival lies inside the den of the most lethal team of professional killers known to man…
Path of the Assassin by Brad Thor is the second novel in the Scot Harvath series. Secret Service agent Scot Harvath shifts his attentions to rooting out, capturing, or killing all those responsible for the plot against the President. As he prepares to close out his list, a bloody and twisted trail of clues points toward one man – the most dangerous terrorist in the world. Only one problem remains: Harvath and his team have no idea what the man looks like. With no other option, their only chance is to recruit a civilian – a woman who has survived a brutal hijacking and is now the only person who can positively identify their suspect. From the burning deserts of North Africa to the winding streets of Rome, Harvath must brave a maelstrom of bloodshed and deception before the world is engulfed in flames.
State of the Union is the third book in the Scot Harvath series from Brad Thor. What can be considered America’s worst nightmare has just become a brutal reality. The most unlikely terrorist enemy of all now has the country by the neck. With both diplomatic and conventional military options swept from the table, the president calls upon Navy SEAL turned Secret Service agent, Scot Harvath, to disable a brilliantly orchestrated conspiracy intended to bring the United States to its knees. Teamed with stunning Russian Intelligence agent Alexandra Ivanova and a highly trained CIA paramilitary detachment, Harvath embarks on an adrenaline-fueled search that spans the world – and leads to a final, deadly showdown on American soil, with a lethal and sinister enemy from the past.
Blowback by Brad Thor is book 5 in the series. Scot Harvath’s counterterrorism career has just went up in smoke – thanks in part to a ruthless senator with her sights set on the Presidency. But when the war on terror takes a scary turn, the president has no choice but to secretly bring Harvath back inside. Deep beneath an Alpine glacier, an ancient weapon designed to decimate the Roman Empire has been discovered – and a shadowy organization intends to use it to destroy the United States. Racing across Europe, Harvath must secure the ultimate instrument of destruction before it brings the United States and the rest of the world to their knees.
Ben Coes’s character Dewey Andreas is in this class as well
Mitch Rapp vs. Scot Harvath… I would take Rapp.
Rapp and Harvath vs Jack Reacher…. Reacher
I just finished Flynn/ Mills “the Survivor”,( Mitch Rapp) very good. I read all Mitch Rapp books. But Thor (Scot Harvath/ Code of Conduct) seems to be more up to date on resent world situations. I also like Brad Taylor (Pike Logan) series. All good, I wait for their next book.
Definitely check out the Dewey Andreas novels by Ben Coes, then. Not quite as good as Rapp, but in the same league as Harvath.
The Harvath books are my current favorites. Great, fast paced writing and wonderful, patriotic hero. Great stuff.
NO ONE compares to Mitch Rapp!!!…but Scot Harvath, Dewey Andreas et al come close
I totally agree. No one compares to Mitch Rapp!!! But, I’ve started on Scot Harvath and liking him
Love Scot Harvath books!
Looking forward to discovering the Harvath books from Thor. I am a big-time fan of Daniel Silva and his character Gabriel Allon, ex-Israeli Mossad, art restorer, spy.
Me too!!! Silva is an excellent story teller and writer!!! Gabriel Allon is a complex character with more depth than most heroes.
Silva has that extra ‘touch’ like when he incorporated the young English boy to watch over Allon’s Cornwall ‘safe house’ and at the end of the story: Allon is coming home after weeks away on the mission…the boy waiting diligently by his bedroom window in the moonlight….Allon stops the motor of the car and sees the boy at watch from the upstairs window….he blinks the headlights to the boy….the boy sees the signal……..pure Silva magic! Not needed for the story plot, but makes all the difference in the world.
The premiss of the book is good. But Scot Harvath would need 20 lives as many ties as he screws up. He seems to leave a ton of people alive to. Sadly there is no more Mitch Rapp since then death of Vince a Flynn. Thor has a long trek to reach that level.
Fear not! Kyle Mills has done a more than adequate job in filling in for Flynn. The original is almost always better but we get more Mitch Rapp!
Don from Anchorage Ak.
Just discovered Thor and am working on Horvath series. Great read a lot like Flynn who will greatly missed
I agree 100% with you. We lost much when Vince died, but he is now at peace. Thor is terrific! I admire and respect Harvath almost as much as Mitch Rapp, who is my hero!!! I just finished Foreign Influence and intend to read the rest. Excellent writing with NO editing errors!!!
Scot Harvath and Mitch Rapp rule.
been a mitch rapp fan for YEARS! Just discovered Brad Thor. I’m a fan!
Love Scott and Mitch
