James D. Doss (1939-2012) was an American novelist of mystery novels. His novels all feature the Native American (Ute, to be exact) detective Charlie Moon. Before he started writing, he worked at the Los Alamos National Laboratory at the University of California.

Doss began his career as an author in 1994 when The Shaman Sings was published. Since then, 15 more books in the Charlie Moon series have been published. Below is a list of all of James D. Doss’ novels in order of when they were originally released:

    I will miss his writing very much. Will the series and character stories be completed with this last book? just curious…it would be nice to see some closure in the characters lives. Thsnk You

      It appears that after The Old Gray Wolf (hitting shelves on October 30th), that will be it, but that’s just an assumption. Some authors do leave notes for future novels or even write a final novel to be published posthumously. We’ll make an update if we hear anything.
