If You Like Eric Guignard Books, You’ll Love…
Dark Tales of Lost Civilizations is an anthology of horror and speculative fiction series featuring Eric Guignard. This book features stories of crumbling, forgotten or rediscovered civilizations and all aspects relating to them. Guignard writes the introduction and put together this book. This critically acclaimed anthology series features stories such as “Angel of Destruction” by Cynthia D. Witherspoon, “Gestures of Faith” by Fadzlishah Johanabas, and “We Are Not the Favored Children” by Matthew Borgard. This book takes you to a place where darkness exists and where spirits and curses still reside.
Another anthology that features Guignard is The Fiends in the Furrows: An Anthology of Folk Horror. There are nine short stories in this book including Guignard’s “The First Order of Whaleyville’s Divine Basilisk Handlers”. That tale is a masterful combining of Mark Twain and H.P. Lovecraft. All the stories in this novel are more atmospheric in their scares than gory, with the shadow of religion hanging over all of them. This book deftly touches on themes of paranoia, rural isolation, mindless and monstrous ritual, as well as arcane ceremonies clashing against modern preoccupations. This is a highly reviewed anthology that is perfect for a before bedtime scare.
