Julie James is an American author, screenwriter and former lawyer. She is the author of the FBI/US Attorney series of books.
After graduating law school, James worked as a clerk in the United States Court of Appeals for awhile before going otu to practice law on her own at one of the largest firms in the US. She began writing screenplays and had two of them optioned by Hollywood producers whcih led her to leave law and move into writing full-time. She currently lives in Chicago with her husband and children.
