If You Like Erin Entrada Kelly Books, You’ll Love…
Hello, Universe is told from four points of view, two girls and two boys, as their lives weave together in unexpected ways. Virgil is a shy, kindhearted boy who feels out of place in his sports-obsessed family, Valencia loves the outdoors, but she is secretly lonely, Kaori believes herself to be psychic, and Chet just wants the weird kids to be normal so that he can focus on basketball. The kids aren’t friends, but they’re changed when Chet pulls a prank that traps Virgil at the bottom of the well. Valencia, Kaori, and Kaori’s sister Gen set out to find the missing Virgil.
Entrada Kelly is also the author of We Dream of Space. The book follows three siblings in Delaware: Cash, Fitch, and Bird. The kids are all struggling with their own issues as the world awaits the launch of the space shuttle challenger. Cash is struggling with his grades and a broken wrist that keeps him from basketball, Fitch deals with a temper that he can’t understand, and Bird has dreams of being NASA’s first female shuttle commander. The three have the same science teacher who gives her students a project to create and complete a spacecraft mission. When the day arrives, it will change them all and bring them together in ways they didn’t expect.
