Taylor Moore Synopses: Down Range by Taylor Moore is the first book in his Garrett Kohl series. During the height of World War II, Francine Lawrence, a woman of half-Chinese descent, finds herself trapped in the opulence of Singapore’s Raffles Hotel with her young daughter, Ruth. As her British husband is delayed, the world around them descends into chaos. Faced with mounting dangers, Francine is forced to make a harrowing decision: she entrusts Ruth to strangers in the hopes of saving her child from the perils of war.
After the war ends, Francine’s search for Ruth turns up nothing. Heartbroken, she pours her energy into building a business empire, becoming a formidable and successful businesswoman. Three decades later, during the Festival of the Hungry Ghosts, a quiet young woman named Sakura walks into Francine’s New York office, claiming to be her long-lost daughter.
But as Francine is drawn in by Sakura’s calm demeanor, she remains unaware of the dark and tumultuous life her supposed daughter has led. Beneath Sakura’s composed surface is a warrior’s heart, shaped by unspeakable horrors. As the mystery unfolds, Francine must confront the unsettling possibility that Sakura is not who she claims to be, and that she may have a deeply hidden motive to deceive.
Firestorm is the second book in Taylor Moore’s Garrett Kohl series. Special Agent Garrett Kohl thought his biggest challenge was behind him after taking down a dangerous cartel boss, but trouble is brewing back home. His family’s Texas homestead is under siege by Talon Corporation, a powerful energy conglomerate bent on exploiting the land for mining. Talon uses bribery, intimidation, and even violence to push their agenda, and when Garrett’s family is attacked, he’s forced to act.
Determined to protect his home and way of life, Garrett begins investigating Talon, only to uncover a global conspiracy involving former Russian special forces. The corporation’s reach goes far beyond Texas, with secretive plans to commandeer critical U.S. resources. When Talon’s top operative, Russian spy Alexi Orlov, kidnaps Garrett’s CIA ally, Kim Manning, the conflict escalates into an all-out war.
Armed with his skills and unwavering resolve, Garrett faces off against a ruthless enemy in a battle that stretches from the Texas plains to the far reaches of global intrigue. He’s ready to fight to the death to defend his family and country in this gripping, high-stakes thriller from a former CIA intelligence officer.
Ricochet by Taylor Moore is book 3 in the Garrett Kohl series. Garrett Kohl, a former Green Beret and elite CIA counterespionage operative, has returned to his Texas roots, hoping for a peaceful life with his young son and the love of his life while rebuilding his fire-ravaged cattle ranch. But when an engineer from a nearby nuclear weapons facility secretly approaches him for help, Garrett is pulled back into the dangerous world he thought he’d left behind.
His investigation uncovers a deadly Iranian plot to blackmail plant employees and sabotage a critical weapons facility. With his unique skills honed as a deep-cover agent, Garrett teams up with his CIA colleagues to stop the operatives. But before they can launch their mission, chaos erupts—a group of enemy commandos hijacks a train carrying nuclear weapons, and an assassin is sent to kill the U.S. Secretary of Defense.
Outnumbered and outgunned, Garrett calls on a band of unlikely allies—outcasts, outlaws, and former criminals he once fought against. Now united by a common cause, they must defend their homes and country from an imminent disaster. This pulse-pounding thriller from a former CIA officer combines action, loyalty, and the raw strength of unity in the rugged Texas High Plains.
