People have been outraged ever since it was announced that 5’7″ Tom Cruise will be playing 6’5″ Jack Reacher. Author Lee Child was asked about his opinion on the choice…

“Honestly, I’m incredibly thrilled and grateful that anyone has an opinion at all,” Child said. “Okay, he doesn’t look exactly right, but he sure does act like Reacher. People are acting as if we marched past vast legions of 6’5″, 250-pound actors. Nobody looks like that in Hollywood.”

We get your point, Lee. Sure, there’s always The Rock, but then you’d have everyone complaining about how he’s the wrong race. There is only one thing for sure and that is that there’s no pleasing everyone.

My vote for Reacher would be Brad Garrett.

I’ve read every book Lee Child has written, and Tom Cruise is absolutely the worst choice anyone could have made to portray Jack Reacher. Every characteristic of Cruise and his personality is the opposite of Reacher’s. Can you imagine Reacher jumping up and down on Oprah’s couch? If any more of Lee’s books are going to be turned into movies — please cast someone who can pull off Reacher.

Tom Cruise is one of the Producers….so that is why he is starring in the movie…money talks!!

Tom Cruise as Jack Reacher is the worst casting decision in film history. That little runt obviously has an ego the size of Texas if he thinks he can pull of this role. And, with respect to Mr. Child, there are several actors that could have played this role without causing such a fuss. Bailey Chase would have been perfect. At least he’s 6’1″. No way will I see this film. I won’t even watch the trailer; would ruin Reacher for me.
