Eoin Colfer will be the first of 11 authors to write a new Doctor Who story. Colfer is a former teacher and the author of the Artemis Fowl YA series. He also wrote a Hitchhiker’s Guide novel following the death of author Douglas Adams.

There is a bidding war for a rare novel by famed author Stephen King. The novel? The Regulators by Richard Bachman (a pen name of King’s), complete with a limited edition slipcase. There are only 500 copies in existence, and this one is signed by King.

The BBC is adapting J.K. Rowling‘s adult novel The Casual Vacancy for television. The novel is Rowling’s first full-length novel besides her Harry Potter books. Rowling said that BBC is the “perfect home” for the adaptation.
