Alex Segura Synopses: In Secret Identity by Alex Segura, the year is 1975, the comic book industry is in decline, but Carmen Valdez doesn’t care. As an assistant at Triumph Comics, she’s tantalizingly close to her dream of writing a superhero book—until an opportunity too good to pass up lands in her lap.
A Triumph writer enlists her help to create “The Lethal Lynx,” the publisher’s first female superhero. But there’s a catch: he insists on keeping her involvement a secret. Then he turns up dead. Their scripts are submitted—without her name. And The Lethal Lynx becomes a runaway hit.
Determined to reclaim her place in the story, Carmen digs into what really happened. But the deeper she gets, the more dangerous the secrets become. A relentless cop is closing in, a figure from her past resurfaces, and the world of comics—a place of passion, rivalry, and deception—may just be the most treacherous setting of all.
Dark Space is a standalone novel by Rob Hart and Alex Segura. Ace pilot Jose Carriles should have ended up behind a desk, like his former friend Corin Timony back on the lunar colony of New Destiny. Instead, he’s at the helm of the Mosaic, leading the Interstellar Union’s first mission beyond the solar system.
Timony, once the Bazaar intelligence agency’s rising star, has been relegated to mundane admin work—monitoring long-range communications. She has no one to blame but herself. And maybe Carriles.
But when the Mosaic suffers a series of inexplicable malfunctions, forcing Carriles into a desperate maneuver, he begins to suspect the mission’s true purpose isn’t what he was told. Meanwhile, Timony intercepts a distress call from the Mosaic—only to find it erased without a trace.
As bodies start piling up and loyalties fracture, Timony and Carriles are pulled into a vast conspiracy stretching across the stars. What they uncover will force them to confront their past failures, their government’s darkest secrets, and a reckoning that could bring humanity to its knees.
Encanto: Nightmares and Sueños is a tie-in novel from Disney’s hit animated series Encanto by Alex Segura. Seventeen-year-old Bruno has never quite fit in. He’s not as outgoing as his sister Pepa or as warm and welcoming as Julieta. No matter how hard he tries, he always seems to be the awkward loner on the fringes. And having the ability to see the future doesn’t help—especially when people don’t like what he tells them.
Determined to change how others see him, Bruno crafts a persona, acting the way he thinks a hero should. He molds himself into what the town wants, believing that if he plays the part long enough, maybe he’ll finally belong.
But hiding his true self comes at a cost. As visions of a looming disaster threaten everything he loves, Bruno must decide: keep up the illusion and risk catastrophe, or embrace the truth—even if it means losing the acceptance he’s fought so hard for.
