If You Like Brandy Colbert Books, You’ll Love…
Little & Lion is a stunning novel on love, identity, loss, and redemption. The book follows young Suzette who is returning home to LA after a year at boarding school out east. She doesn’t really want to go back either as her friends, family, and crush are all back in LA. Her stepbrother Lionel has been diagnosed as biopolar and he is in need of emotional support. Suzette ends up staying and settles back into her old life. Complicating matters is the fact that Suzette has a new crush, the same girl that her brother is in love with. This is uncharted territory and as her brother’s disorder gets worse, she’ll be forced to reckon with her choices.
Another popular book by Colbert is Finding Yvonne. This book sees Yvonne on the verge of graduation and coming to the harsh realization that she might not be able to continue to play violin past high school. With her relationship with her father being strained at best, Yvonne turns to a street musician and fellow violinist who understands her struggle. The mysterious and charming boy gains her heart and more which leads to a whole new issue in Yvonne’s life: a pregnancy.
