Dominick Dunne
Dominick Dunne (1925-2009) was an American author and journalist, as well as being a Hollywood producer. Following studying at Williams College and serving in the Second World War, Dominick spent some time in New York before settling in to Hollywood, directing the TV series Playhouse 90 and becoming vice president of Four Star Pictures. Although he quickly became well-known for his parties rather than his work and became an alcoholic and a drug addict. In 1979, he left for Oregon and became an author, thereby reinventing himself. After his daughter, actress Dominique Dunne, was murdered by her ex-boyfriend, Dunne wrote an article for Vanity Fair about the ordeal. Her killer only served two and a half years. Dominick passed away in August 2009 while living in Manhattan, New York and was buried in Hadlyme, Connecticut.
