Eric Wilson is a Canadian author best known for writing the Tom & Liz Austen series of books.
Wilson was a big fan of the Hardy Boys mystery series as a child and even started his own detective agency as a kid called Eric Wilson, Associates. He would eventually leave the investigating behind, but not his love of mysteries. Wilson attended the University of British Columbia where he received his B.A. He became a teacher and his students dislike of reading lead to him writing stories that would grab their attention. This ultimately lead to Murder on the Canadian, his first published book in the Tom & Liz Austen series. Tom in the books was a big Hardy Boys fan and is himself a boy detective.

Murder on the Canadian is the first book in the Tom and Liz Austen Mystery series. The story begins when Tom hears the agonizing sound of a woman’s scream which leads him into the middle of a murder plot on the passenger train, The Canadian. The lovely Catherine Saks is dead and Tom sets out to find out who did it. There was a strange collection of travelers among Car 165 with Catherine. As Tom gets closer to the truth, he unknowingly gets closer to the killer and soon ends up face to face with him, with his life soon being threatened in the most alarming way imaginable.
Another popular book in the series is The Green Gables Detectives. Liz is visiting the famous farmhouse known as Green Gables when her and her friends get swept up in a weird case. They will be lead from an ancient cemetery to a haunted church and, ultimately, to a showdown in a deserted lighthouse on Prince Edward Island..
