Dixon has been married for over three decades and they have three children. Her and her husband split their time between Devon and the Black Country. When she’s not writing she enjoys coffee, reality TV, and spending time with her cockapoo. Helena has also published romance novels under the name Nell Dixon.

Murder at the Dolphin Hotel is the first book in the Miss Underhay Mystery series. The story begins in 1933 and introduces us to Kitty, an independent woman who prides herself on her family’s hotel on the English coast. Things are going well until a body is found and multiple rooms are rummaged through. Someone is looking for a stolen ruby that Kitty’s mother once possessed. Now, Underhay finds herself in the middle of a murder investigation. She’ll work with her hotel’s security officer to decipher the mystery in order to protect the good name of her family’s hotel, and the lives of the guests staying there.
The seventh book in the Miss Underhay Mystery series is Murder at the Wedding. Kitty Underhay is a bridesmaid in her cousin’s wedding and makes her way to Thurscomb Castle in deepest Yorkshire. As she arrives, Kitty will need to avoid questions about her own marital status and decides to walk through the garden. That’s when she hears a gunshot. It turns out the valet is dead. Kitty notices that the groom’s best man is especially rattled as he could believe that bullet was meant for him. She soon finds that the man has been getting blackmailed and one of the guests could be responsible.
