The first book in The Wars of Light and Shadow series is The Curse of the Mistwraith. This is an epic fantasy series about a prophecy of two brothers: one dark, one fair, raised on opposite sides of a relentless war. The brothers have been on opposite sides until a vengeful king decides to banish them. Now, thrown together, they must form a balance and find an understanding in order to fulfill the prophecy.
Daughter of the Empire is the first book in the Riftwar Cycle: The Empire Trilogy. This is the epic tale of adventure and intrigue from Wurts and Raymond E. Feist. The realm of Kelewan is enguled in magic and murder as fierce warlords ignite their feud to enslave the empire of Tsuranuanni. Then in the Imperial courts, there are assassins and spies making plans against the rightful heir. Mara, a young Ruling lady, is called upon to lead her people in a heroic struggle for survival. To do so, she must rally an army of rebel warriors while also forming a pact with the alien cho-ja. She’ll go so far as to marry the son of a hated enemy in order to get it done.
