Beauty and the Beard by K.C. Crowne unfolds as a promising recipe for a captivating romance. Lindsey, an accomplished wildlife photographer, finds herself stranded in the rugged Colorado wilderness following a harrowing accident that leaves her with amnesia. Half-frozen and in dire straits, her rescue comes at the hands of Cole, a strikingly handsome mountain man who operates a family-run mountain resort. Despite Cole’s self-imposed vow to avoid romantic entanglements due to past heartbreaks, the enigmatic circumstances surrounding Lindsey’s presence keep them in close proximity, nurturing a budding connection. However, the uncertainty surrounding Lindsey’s forgotten past threatens to impede their journey towards complete commitment.

While I found myself engaged in the story and eagerly continued to read until the end to see if this couple could find their happily ever after, I did notice some areas where the writing could benefit from improvement. The descriptions at times felt overly detailed and occasionally meandered off track, but the last chapter seemed rushed, leaving important aspects unexplored. I should note that I read an ARC copy that required more attention to grammar, typos, and formatting. While these errors were generally minor, they occurred frequently. It’s my hope that the book underwent more thorough editing before its final publication. A touch more refinement would enhance the overall storytelling. There were a few instances where revising the wording could have significantly improved the prose.

Despite these points, I want to emphasize that this was my first experience with this author’s work, and I did enjoy the story. I am open to reading more from this author in the future, as I believe their writing will likely improve with each new book. -Anonymous

What an exhilarating ride! Highest Bidder by K.C. Crowne isn’t your typical mafia-style tale. It kicks off with four brothers who have achieved success in the tech industry. The Antonov Brothers form an unbreakable alliance, and their resolve is soon put to the test by their uncle.

Meanwhile, Aurora, having completed her college education, is on the brink of embarking on an internship at Cyberfort. It might not have been her first choice among tech giants, but she understands the value of starting from the bottom to work her way up. However, an unexpected twist occurs when her roommate, Charlotte, falls ill and persuades Aurora to step in for her in a side job, a decision that sets in motion a night that forever alters the course of both Aurora and Mikhail’s lives.

This narrative is a delight, brimming with compelling characters and the tantalizing promise of more stories involving these intriguing brothers. Enjoy the ride! -J.B.

I found Doctor’s Secret by K.C. Crowne to be thoroughly entertaining and enjoyable.

It’s amusing to reflect on a time before cell phones and the internet, when home phones and letters were the primary means of communication. The story sparked an interesting discussion around that aspect.

I particularly liked the connection between Duncan and Annie, and I couldn’t help but feel a pang of sadness when Duncan resorted to lying, although with no malicious intent. His feelings for Annie drove him to justify their relationship, despite complications related to Andrew, his brother. Duncan’s deceit extended not only to Annie but also to Andrew, which left my heart aching.

A delightful moment that had me nearly spitting out my coffee was when Bethany, Annie’s sister, revealed Dean’s lactose intolerance. It was a hilarious and unexpected twist that had me laughing heartily.

The only minor issue I noticed was the sequencing of chapters 9 and 10, which seemed out of order chronologically. It would have made more sense for them to be reversed, with the mugging, then the intimate scene, and finally the visit to the parents’ house. However, this observation doesn’t impact my overall review; it’s merely an observation.

In sum, Doctor’s Secret provided a thoroughly entertaining reading experience that I greatly appreciated. -Tara
