If You Like Keith McCafferty Books, You’ll Love…

The Royal Wulff Murders was McCafferty’s first novel and the first of the series. A fishing guide finds the body of a man in the Madison River, the Holy Grail of Montana fishing rivers, with a Royal Wulff trout fly stuck in his lower lip. The local sheriff suspects foul play and begins her investigation which leads here to Sean Strahan. Sean is a private investigator and current fly fisherman who is hired by a woman to find her missing brother. The pairs investigation will cross and they’ll have to follow the money to find the killer.

Another great book in the series is Buffalo Jump Blues. Just after the Fourth of July, the sheriff is called to investigate a horrible tragedy. A herd of buffalo were run off a cliff, like in the ritualistic hunting practice of the old times. The one man who can answer if this is what this was, an Indian man, is found dead among the buffalo with an arrow in his leg. Meanwhile, Strahan is hired to find a missing Indian man and his investigation leads him straight to the buffalo run.
