If You Like Books, You’ll Love…
To Love and To Kill is the true crime story of the missing persons case of Heather Strong. A young, suburban mother who went missing and baffled to authorities. The case is given to a veteran investigator who believed her to be dead, and only hoped to find her body as well as her killer. It turns out the killers were very close to Heather as part of a love triangle, but they were also cunning, manipulative, and depraved.
Phelps wrote another true crime story, Too Young to Kill, about a small-town Midwestern teenager murdered by her own friends. Adrianne Reynolds was just sixteen-years-old and struggled with jealousy in her life. She had sought a fresh start in East Moline, Illinois after a rough upbringing in Texas. Her body ended up charred, stuffed into garbage bags, and then scattered. A truly gruesome murder, but it wasn’t the work of hardened criminals – it was actually that of her own best friends. A typical teenage spat turns into something much more deadly and ends up costing young Adrianne her life.
