Soraya M. Lane Synopses: The Berlin Sisters is a standalone novel by Soraya M. Lane. In 1943 Berlin, Ava Müller believes she is the perfect supporter of the German war effort, working under the propaganda machine of Joseph Goebbels and proud of her father’s high-ranking position in the Reich. Her sister, Hanna, serves as a nurse, bravely aiding the wounded during the bombings. Together, they embody the image of a model Nazi family.
But Ava’s world is turned upside down when she returns to their family home and discovers a shocking secret: her parents and Hanna are not the loyal Nazis they appear to be. They have been working in the resistance all along, risking their lives to oppose the very regime Ava thought they supported. To make matters worse, Ava finds her childhood friend Eliana Goldman, a Jewish woman, and her family hidden in the attic of their home, fleeing Nazi persecution.
Ava is torn. She has been taught to report traitors, but can she turn in her own family, knowing they are fighting to save lives from the horrors of the Nazi regime? As Eliana shares her harrowing experience under Nazi terror, Ava’s faith in the Reich is shattered, and she realizes how blind she has been to the atrocities happening around her.
Now, Ava must make a choice—remain silent and uphold the oppressive regime or follow her family’s dangerous path into the resistance. With Hanna by her side, Ava begins to work from within the Nazi headquarters, risking everything to help sabotage the Reich’s war efforts. Each day brings them closer to discovery, as the sisters’ courageous efforts to undermine the regime grow riskier.
Facing impossible odds and constant danger, Ava and Hanna must rely on their unbreakable bond to continue the fight for justice. But with traitors and enemies at every turn, they know that their mission may demand the ultimate sacrifice.
Soldier on Her Doorstep is the first Heroes Come Home book by Soraya Lane. Soldier Alex Dane made a promise to his dying comrade—to take care of his wife and daughter. Now, standing on their doorstep, the weight of that promise and the pain of his own past weigh heavily on him.
Lisa Kennedy is still reeling from the loss of her husband, her focus entirely on her young daughter, Lilly. Since her father’s death, Lilly hasn’t spoken a word, and Lisa is struggling to reach her. When Alex appears at her door, tired and battle-worn, she knows her late husband would want her to help him, even if just for a little while.
Alex’s presence in their lives feels like a lifeline for both Lisa and Lilly. Despite her guarded heart, Lisa can’t help but feel a spark of something she thought was long buried, especially when Lilly, silent for so long, finally reaches out—her little hand finding comfort in Alex’s strong one.
As Alex helps them heal, Lisa finds herself torn between her loyalty to her late husband and the new emotions stirring inside her. Could this war-weary hero be the key to mending her broken family and her heart?
The Italian Daughter by Soraya Lane is the first book in her Lost Daughters series. In 1946 Italy, Felix gives Estee a ring, promising his eternal love, but Estee, still bound by circumstances, gently declines. She urges Felix to propose only when he’s truly free, leaving their future in the balance.
In the present day, Lily finds her life turned upside down after her father’s death. She uncovers a shocking family secret—her grandmother was born at Hope’s House, a refuge for unmarried mothers. Armed with just a faded Italian recipe and an old theater program, Lily embarks on a journey to unravel her family’s mysterious past.
Lily seizes the opportunity to work at an Italian vineyard in Como, a dream her late father always cherished. The sprawling vineyards and the warm hospitality of the Martinelli family quickly feel like home, and she is especially drawn to Antonio, their charming son. As they spend evenings together, Antonio offers to help Lily uncover her grandmother’s past.
Through clues embedded in the recipe, Lily traces her family history to a hilltop bakery, unearthing a tragic love story that brings a deeper understanding of her own heritage. As she navigates the revelations, Lily’s bond with Antonio deepens, and she begins to fall in love with both him and the beauty of Italy.
However, when Lily finally discovers who her grandmother really was, she faces a pivotal decision: should she embrace her newfound heritage and forge a new life in Italy, or return to her old life, shaped by the heart-wrenching legacy of her family? As the past and present collide, Lily must decide whether she has the courage to follow her heart.
