Detective Inspector Helen Grace is the protagonist in a series of crime thriller novels by English novelist M.J. Arlidge. Based in Southampton, Grace is tough and determined to get her job done. She rides a motorcycle and prefers to travel by herself. She has her own demons from childhood, which cause mood swings and depression. Her vice is not alcohol or drugs, but she uses pain in order to help control her moods – pain that is administered by loyal dominator, Jake.
