Order of Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants Books
The history behind the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants is quite interesting. Ann Brashears, the author, was working as an editor when one of her co-workers suggested that a book about a pair of jeans that a group of friends shared. Brashears found this idea very interesting and decided to write the book herself.
The friend, Jodi Anderson was compensated well for giving her the idea and actually got a job promotion out of the deal. The idea of a pair of pants really spoke to Brashears as a shirt can be worn by many people and look the same, but a pair of pants look far different on everyone. Since then the book has spawned a series and even been made into a major motion picture.

If You Like Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants Books, You’ll Love…
The first book introduces us to a group of friends, and their seemingly magical pair of pants. Carmen is ready to throw away the old pair of pants she got a thrift store, but her friend Lena decides to save them. The friends like them and decide that they should each try them on. Whoever they fit the best on, keeps them. Well, a funny thing happens: they look great on everyone. The girls vow to keep in touch as they go their separate ways with the pants always being on call.
The girls return in The Second Summer of the Sisterhood. The girls are sixteen now and this book feels very authentic teenager. The girls each have their own storylines and problems to deal with, but the Sisterhood keeps them going strong. The heartfelt letters and actual growth the characters go through is what has kept this series strong and makes this another fine read in the series.
