Order of Wild Cards Books
Wild Cards is a series of science fiction/alternate history anthologies edited by George R.R. Martin (with Melinda Snodgrass). The series was inspired by comic book superheroes and the roleplaying game Superworld. The series is set following World War II when an alien virus is unleashed on New York City, killing almost everyone who goes near it. Most of those who survive are turned into “Jokers,” which are deformed creatures, and a select few are given superpowers (and called “Aces”).
George R.R. Martin began his Wild Cards anthology series in 1986 with voulme 1 of the series, entitled Wild Cards. The series is currently ongoing. Besides Martin himself, some of the authors who have contributed to the series include Roger Zelazny, Lewis Shiner, Walter Jon Williams, Pat Cadigan, Howard Waldrop, Leanne C. Harper, Chris Claremont, Victor Milan and John J. Miller. Below is a list of George R.R. Martin’s Wild Cards anthologies in order of when they were originally published:
