11 New Doctor Who E-Shorts Announced; Who Will Write Them?
In conjunction with the 50th anniversary of Doctor Who, the BBC has announced that they will be publishing a series of 11 new Doctor Who short stories written by “well-known children’s authors” starting this month.
The stories will appear each month and will feature each regeneration of the Doctor, beginning with William Hartnell.
“We are delighted to have 11 sensational children’s authors involved in the series, all bringing an individual style, imagination and interpretation to their e-short tribute to The Doctor,” said Publisher Juliet Matthews. “This is a who’s who of children’s fiction coming together to celebrate the much-loved Doctor Who.”
The list of authors is being kept super-secret for now, but the first author will be announced today (Monday, January 7th) on BBC’s Doctor Who Facebook page.
Rumoured authors include J.K. Rowling, Neil Gaiman, Michelle Paver, Susan Price, Kate Thompson, Anthony Horowitz, Geraldine McCaughrean, Philip Pullman and Alan Garner.
