New Erotica Novel Sells for Six Figures in UK
A British publisher has paid six figures for the rights to Fifty Shades of Grey by former British TV exec EL James. The erotic novel, which was first published by a small Australian press, is the story of a submissive-dominant relationship between a 27 year-old billionaire and a student.
The series originally started as fanfics based on Stephenie Meyer‘s Twilight universe, but are now at the top of the New York Times bestseller list.
Erotica is now a booming genre, thanks in part due to eReader sales skyrocketing. The books are now available in eBook form in the UK and will see print starting on April 12th.
