Stephen King is getting yet another one of his stories to make the big screen. This time, it’s a short story called Gramma that was in the short story collection Skeleton Crew and also was adapted for The New Twilight Zone series.

Universal has brought on director Peter Cornwell, screenwriter Matt Greenberg and lead actor Frances O’Connor. The film will be re-titled Mercy.

The synopsis of Gramma reads as follows:

“Story follows two young boys who go with their single mother (O’Connor) to take care of their elderly, senile grandmother named Mercy, only to discover that she’s a witch who made an evil pact with a dark force many years before.”
