Cynthia Kadohata is an American author of YA and children’s novels. Cynthia is of Japanese descent, and writes coming-of-age stories involving Asian American women. She spent some of her time growing up in the South, and has set some of her novels there. Cynthia earned her B.A. in journalism from the University of Southern California. Kate Parker is an American author of cozy and historical mystery novels. She writes the Victorian Bookshop Mysteries series. Kate has had a variety of careers, including as a microbiologist, insurance fraud investigator, office clerk, telephone line repair person, and EMT. Her favourite career of all is her latest – a writer. She now writes historical mysteries with romantic elements, and has taken inspiration from some of her favourite mystery novels, such as Robert Barnard, Simon Brett, Margaret Frazer, Susanna Gregory, and Deanna Raybourn. After graduating from the University of Virginia School of Law, Cuyler honed her writing skills on legal briefs for several years as a litigation associate before starting a freelance writing business. She looks at all of the rules of etiquette and propriety of the era as working in the favour of the heroine – if she’s able to seize her dreams. Anna loves to travel, where she visits schools and volunteers with children’s organizations in Peru, Ecuador, Thailand and Mexico.
