Amitav Ghosh is an Indian author of fiction and non-fiction books. Amitav Ghosh was born in Calcutta in 1956. He studied in Dehra Dun, New Delhi, Alexandria and Oxford and his first job was at the Indian Express newspaper in New Delhi. He earned a doctorate at Oxford. He has taught at many universities in India and the United States, including Delhi University, Columbia, the City University of New York and Harvard. Sheila Roberts is an author of contemporary romance and women’s fiction novels. She writes the Life in Icicle Falls series. Prior to becoming a writer, Sheila owned a singing telegram company and played in a band (she still loves writing songs). Her novel On Strike for Christmas was adapted into a Lifetime movie, and The Nine Lives of Christmas was made into a movie for the Hallmark Channel. In 1990, she earned a first-class honours B.A. in English and French from University College Dublin, and in 1997 a Ph.D from the University of Cambridge. Emma has been able to earn her living as a full-time writer since the age of 23.
