Madeline was born and raised in California. She married her high school sweetheart and they had three sons. Madeline began writing while her children were still at home, but didn’t let anyone in on what she was doing while her kids were in bed and husband at work. Finally, she let a friend read some of her work who encouraged her to keep trying for her dream. Heather Blake is the pen name of American author Heather Webber, who writes cozy mysteries under this pseudonym. She writes the Wishcraft Mysteries and the Magic Potion Mysteries series. Heather is a two-time Agatha Award nominee (as of this writing). She is a homebody by nature who loves to be near her family, read, watch reality TV, drink coffee, crochet, bake and sometimes travel out to the mountains in the northeast. September 2016 Newsletter
It’s September – always a good time for readers. A lot of my favourite authors start releasing new books around this time – and man, I just love the Fall when it comes to reading.
There’s just something about sitting inside with a cup of tea, curled up on the couch reading a good book while the rain betters outside. Always look forward to it.
Read quite a few books this month. Actually went back and re-read a few books I’d already read and I also read some new ones. Easily my favourite book of the month was Dark Forces by Stephen Leather. This was the 13th book in the Spider Shepherd series and was great as always. There’s not been one Spider Shepherd book I haven’t liked. (more…)

Leslie Gould is an American author of Christian and Amish fiction. She writes the Women of Lancaster County and the Cousins of the Dove series (both with Mindy Starns Clark), as well as the Courtships of Lancaster County series. Leslie earned her MFA in Creative Writing from Portland State University and has taught fiction as an adjunct professor at Multnomah University. She also teaches workshops at both public and private schools and as well as writers’ conferences. Leslie has worked as a curator for a historical museum and as a bridal magazine editor prior to becoming a novelist. She lives in Oregon with her husband, Peter, and their four children. (more…)
