The series features the Onslow Boys – a group of boys with a certain swagger who frequent the Onslow Hotel and leave all the ladies breathless. The Summer series is a series about self-discovery and one’s first true love that has been described as being lovable and intense at the same time. Ernest Cline is an American author of science fiction novels and non-fiction books. He is also a spoken word artist and a screenwriter. In June 2010, Random House subsidiary Crown Publishing Group purchased the manuscript for his first novel, Ready Player One. The novel will be adapted to film by Warner Bros., with Steven Spielberg at the helm. His second novel, Armada is being made into a film by Universal Pictures. Welcome to May – and I have to say it was a disappointing reading month for me. Not sure why – some months I find I’m able to read 10+ books and just cram them in and other months I just struggle to find the time.
The month started off fine. I read The Blade Artist by Irvine Welsh. If you were a fan of Francis Begbie I’d recommend it. Really great book.
Then after reading Blake Crouch’s Wayward Pines series I wanted to read more by Blake Crouch. I ended up reading a standalone novel Abandon(it was okay) and the first novel in the Andrew Z. Thomas series, Desert Places. One of those books that are pretty rough but go at such a fast paced you can’t help but enjoy it. (more…)

Jordan Jacobs is an American author of children’s mystery and adventure novels. He writes the Samantha Sutton series. For as long as he can remember, Jordan has loved both archaeology and writing. Being interested in mummies, castles and Indiana Jones as a kid led to him participating in an excavation when he was 13 years old in the Sierra Nevada. Jordan would then complete an archaeology program in high school, following his passion to Stanford, Oxford and Cambridge. In total, his research has taken him to nearly 50 different countries. Aside from being an author, Jordan is Head of Cultural Policy at the Phoebe Hearst Museum of Anthropology at UC Berkeley. He lives in San Francisco with his wife and daughter. (more…)
