His novels usually focus on one character and narrated by a character who is part of the story, but not a major part. Perez-Reverte sets his novels in Spain or the Mediterranean and deal with Spanish history, art and culture and ancient treasures. By the end of the series, she is ten years old, but is still as imaginative as ever. The books share some of the characters from the Henry Huggins series.
