Leslie Charteris (1907-1993) was a British author of crime thriller and adventure novels. He is best known for creating The Saint series starring Simon Templar. Charteris was born in Singapore to a Chinese father and British mother. He attended Rossall School in Lancashire, England before moving onto King’s College, Cambridge, which he dropped out from in order write. His Saint series includes over 100 novels, novellas and short stories, 16 films and three separate television series. (more…)

Uplift is a series of hard science fiction novels by American author David Brin. In the Uplift universe, civilization is made up of many different sentient races. Dr. David Brin is an American author of science fiction novels and stories. He is the creator of the Uplift universe. Brin graduated from the California Institute of Technology with a B.S. in astrophysics and also got his M.S. in applied physics and Ph.D in space science from the University of California, San Diego. As an author of hard science fiction, most of his stories are plausible, to the point that there is a website that keeps track of his predictions. Michael Wallace is an author of thriller, suspense, historical fiction and fantasy novels for both adults and young adults. He writes the Righteous series as well as the Devil’s Deep series and the Dark Citadel series. But not all of Michael’s adventures are fiction; he’s travelled across the Sahara while riding a camel, went through a Southeast Asian tiger preserve on an elephant, eaten fried guinea pig and perhaps scariest of all, been licked on the head by a skunk.
