Order of Roald Dahl Books
Roald Dahl (1916-1990) was a British author of fantasy, mystery and horror novels and short stories for both children and adults. He was born in Wales to Norwegian parents. Dahl enlisted to the Royal Air Force where he became a flying ace. Following a crash and some severe headaches, he returned home. It was around this time he ended up meeting author C.S. Forester, who was so impressed by Dahl’s war stories that he published them verbatim. As a children’s author, he wrote some of the most memorable children’s stories of the 20th century, including Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Matilda, James and the Giant Peach, The BFG and many others. Order of Destroyermen Books
The Destroyermen is a series of alternate history novels by American novelist Taylor Anderson. The series is about the crew of a destroyer warship during World War II. The USS Walker crew is lead by Lietenant Commander Matthew Patrick Reddy. During battle, the USS Walker ends up into a portal to an alternate Earth. This other Earth the crew has transported to is exactly the same as the one they left, except this Earth is inhabited by giant lemurs known as the Lemurians and the reptilian species known as the Grik. Taylor Anderson is an American novelist of alternate history novels. He writes the Destroyermen series. Taylor has his Master’s Degree in History and has taught it at Tartleton State University. He is also a gun maker and forensic ballistic archaeologist and even works as a technical and dialogue consultant for many different movies and documentaries involving historical combat. Kyra Davis is an American author of mystery/romance novels. She is the author of the Sophie Katz series. Kyra grew up interested in theatre, taking part in every school play or community production she possibly could. After travelling throughout Europe, she changed her mind and decided to study Fasion Merchandising and Marketing. Kyra then got her Bachelor’s Degree in business and humanities at Golden Gate University. While going through a divorce, she became an insomniac and would always be thinking up stories to keep her from stressing out, so she started writing them down. G.M. Malliet is an American author of mystery novels. She writes the St. Just Mysteries and the Max Tudor series. Malliet got her graduate degree from the University of Cambridge and then went on to do post-graduate work at Oxford University. She enjoys reading, hiking, cooking and planning her next vacation. Malliet grew up as a military brat, who spent time in Alaska, Colorado, New Mexico and Hawaii during her childhood, and later lived in Japan and Europe (she especially enjoyed living in the U.K.). Temeraire is a series of fantasy/alternate history novels by American novelist Naomi Novik. The series is a fantasy re-telling of the Napoleonic Wars, complete with dragons. The books follow Temeraire and Captain William Laurence. Captain Laurence is serving in the Royal Navy when he comes across a dragon egg. When it hatches, a dragon named Temeraire is born. Naomi Novik is an American author of historical fantasy/alternate history novels. She writes the Temeraire fantasy series. Naomi has been reading ever since she was young, even reading the Lord of the Rings when she was six and then came to love Jane Austen when she was only seven years old. With her childhood love for literature in mind, it comes as no surprise that Naomi studied English Literature at Brown University. She also got her Master’s degree in Computer Science from Columbia University. After working on designing and developing the Neverwinter Nights: Shadows of Undrentide computer game, she realized that she preferred writing fantasy to working on fantasy video games. (more…)
