After being rejected, he ended up getting a job in the publishing industry and later moved onto copywriting. Following a mid-life crisis, Rollins took a hiatus in order to learn how fly aerobatics and to try his hand at writing fiction, and he’s never looked back. Her writing career took off while she was working as a nurse during the Civil War and writing about her experiences (for what became Hospital Sketches). Alcott is best known for her children’s novel Little Women – a Civil War-era coming of age story that spawned multiple sequels.
