Jill Churchill is the pen name of Janice Young Brooks, an American author of cozy mystery and historical romance novels. She writes the Jane Jeffry and Grace & Favor series. Churchill attended the University of Kansas to earn her education degree, then went to the University of Missouri-Kansas City before working as a teacher for many years. She also worked as a book reviewer for the Kansas City Star. Jill is the winner of both the Agatha and Macavity awards. Pendragon is a series of YA fantasy novels by American novelist D.J. MacHale. The series centers around Bobby Pendragon, a regular 14 year-old who is tasked by his Uncle Press with an unbelievable mission. His task is to protect all of time and space from a demon known as Saint Dane, who is looking to destroy the whole of humanity. The only thing that can stop Saint Dane is a group of people known as Travelers – which Bobby is one of. The series is not to be confused with the Pendragon Cycle series by Stephen R. Lawhead. D.J. MacHale is an American author of children’s/YA fantasy and horror novels. He is also a writer, director and executive producer and has worked on such series as Are You Afraid of the Dark?, Flight 29 Down, Seasonal Differences and many others. He writes the Pendragon, Morpheus Road and Sylo Chronicles series. MacHale earned his BFA in film productions from New York University. Before he started at NYU, he did not enjoy writing until a screenwriting teacher of his changed his mind. MacHale lives with his family in Southern California. (more…)

Cody’s Law is a series of western novels written under the house name of Matthew S. Hart (James Reasoner & Bill Crider). The series was edited by Book Creations, Inc. (BCI), the company responsible for many western and historical fiction series. The Cody’s Law series includes the “only vampire/lesbian/cannibal/incest western” ever published (The Prisoners), and despite that, author Reasoner calls the novel “a decent traditional western with a stalwart hero [Texas Ranger Sam Cody], a villainous outlaw, and plenty of ridin’ and shootin’.” (more…)

Amos Powell, who leads an army of fearless firebrands consisting of Landrum Davis (a former soldier/Ranger), Gerald Glidinghawk (who has a Dartmouth education) and Celia Burnett (adept at both shooting and riding).
