Wild Cards is a series of science fiction/alternate history anthologies edited by George R.R. Martin (with Melinda Snodgrass). The series was inspired by comic book superheroes and the roleplaying game Superworld. The series is set following World War II when an alien virus is unleashed on New York City, killing almost everyone who goes near it. Pierce Brown is an American author of young adult fantasy novels. He writes the Red Rising Trilogy. Pierce grew up building forts and setting traps for his cousins. After graduating college, Pierce’s plan was to go to Hogwarts like Harry Potter, but he instead ended up trying to make it as a writer and working as a social media manager at a new tech company, working on the Disney lot, as an NBC page and was an aide on a U.S. Senate campaign. Robert Kirkman is an American author of post-apocalyptic horror novels, but is most famous for his work as a comic book writer. Most particularly, he is best known for creating The Walking Dead, which became a smash hit TV series on AMC. Some of the other comic book series he’s created and/or worked on include Battle Pope, Invincible, Masters of the Universe, Marvel Team-Up, Marvel Zombies, Irredeemable Anti-Man, Astounding Wolf-Man, Haunt and more.
