He served in the Royal Army Medical Corps for 22 years and made Regimental Sergeant Major. He then worked in a few positions in education before retiring to write fiction full-time. A Week in Winter sold 36,582 copies and earned €525,925.65 between September and the end of the year. Binchy’s books sold a total of 40,000,000 copies in 37 different languages over the course of her lifetime. (more…)
