The fourth book in the Heroes of Olympus series by Rick Riordan is called The Demigod Diaries. The book features three (brand new) short stories along with original art, character interviews, illustrated profiles, puzzles and a quiz. Dennis Lehane Starts Own Imprint
Written by Julie Vegas on Tuesday, August 14th, 2012After being offered the chance to start his own publishing imprint, author Dennis Lehane was definitely interested. However, he wanted to make sure he had full control over everything.
“I didn’t want anyone pressuring me to pick the ‘book of the moment,'” Lehane says. “This [arrangement] is informal, in the best sense of the word. It’s painless.”
The new HarperCollins imprint is called Dennis Lehane Books and will be debuting next month with The Cutting Season by Attica Locke – a screenwriter writing her first novel. (more…)

Stephenie Meyer Doesn’t Want You To Name Your Kid “Renesmee”

“I am someone who strongly believes in reality, and that you don’t monkey around with people’s names. Whether they become a stripper or a lawyer has a large part to do with the name you give them. I would never name a real child Renesmee,” Stephenie told Entertainment Weekly. (more…)
John Banville To Write New Philip Marlowe Novel
Written by Brandon Williams on Monday, August 13th, 2012John Banville, who recently finished his novel Ancient Light will be writing a Philip Marlowe novel under his pen name of Benjamin Black. It would be the first novel featuring the character created by Raymond Chandler since 1991, when Robert B. Parker wrote the novel Perchance to Dream.
“This all happened very speedily, in a matter of a few weeks,” Banville said of the deal to write a Philip Marlowe character. “Some years ago my agent, Ed Victor, had come up with the idea that I might write a Philip Marlowe novel, but the terms at the time weren’t right. In the meantime the Chandler estate changed hands, and suddenly I found myself committing to what is a daunting project. (more…)
Order of Inspector Banks Books
Inspector Alan Banks is a fictional character featured in a series of novels as well as short stories by English-Canadian author Peter Robinson. After working in the Unsolved Crime Squad for the Metropolitan Police in London, Banks got sick and tired of the materialism of the big city, packed his bags and left for the (fictional) town of Eastvale near Yorkshire. He works there as Detective Chief Inspector. The series has been adapted into a television series by ITV called DCI Banks, with the title character played by Stephen Tompkinson. (more…)
