Rowling and go the self-publishing route. Authors are getting the rights back for their backlisted eBooks and making them available on the eBook market themselves.
“We’ve gotten all the rights back to my books from publishers, and we’re working on an e-book project for my backlist,” says Van Lustbader. (more…)

Val McDermid To Re-Write “Northanger Abbey”; Other Austen Re-Writes Planned

Mommy Porn or Baby Porn? Erotica Author Weighs in on “Fifty Shades”

James’ books have been dubbed “mommy porn.” Conran, like James, disagrees with this label, but for a very different reason. She says it’s more like “infantile baby porn.” She notes that there’s no real S&M until 400 pages in. (more…)

Ernest Hemingway (1899-1961) was an American author and one of the most influential authors of the 20th century. He lived a very adventurous life that is well-documented. He saw action in the First World War (being seriously wounded by mortar fire) and worked as a journalist in World War II. As a novelist, some of his most famous works include The Sun Also Rises, A Farewell to Arms, For Whom the Bell Tolls and The Old Man and the Sea. He survived two back-to-back plane crashes, which tragically led to Hemingway committing suicide in 1961 at the age of 61. (more…)
