Ian Rankin is a Scottish author of crime fiction. Rankin’s goal in life was not always to write crime fiction. He originally thought he would be compared to the likes of Robert Louis Stevenson rather than to be considered part of the Tartan Noir genre. He is best known for his Inspector Rebus novels, which are set in Edinburgh. Many of the books have been adapted to a television series on the British channel ITV, starring John Hannah and later Ken Stott as Inspector Rebus. (more…)

Lionsgate rep Rob Friedman put those rumours to rest, “We are not remaking Twilight. We will happily support Stephenie Meyer if she decides to proceed in any way. But this will be the last one unless that should change.” (more…)

The story involves a town being ripped apart by a parish council election, but the book is on track to rip apart sales records.
Back in 2007, Rowling’s Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows broke the record for the fastest-selling book in history by selling 2.6 million copies on its first day. (more…)
