James Patterson Continues Charitable Ways

James Patterson has been very charitable as of late. He is going to donate 3,000 books to the Los Angeles Unified School District. This means that 60 high schools in the school district will each receive a box of Maximum Ride: The Angel Experiment books and the 77 middle schools will each get a box of Middle School: The Worst Years of My Life. The Sonchai Jitpleecheep series is a series of detective novels by British novelist John Burdett. The title character of the series is a Thai Buddhist detective. Sonchai is the son of a military man and a prostitute. The series is largely told in Sonchai’s meditative internal dialogues. His novels deal with Thai culture, superstitions and paranormal beliefs in Thailand as well as the crime scene in Thailand. Ian Fleming Biopic Gets Director

Duncan Jones has signed on to direct the biopic based on the life of Ian Fleming before he ever penned the James Bond series.

Jones had this to say about the project, “Fleming lived through one of the most perilous periods in world history, in a position that allowed him a unique vantage point of all the players, all the stakes. He witnesses true heroism first-hand. And he saw the evil men could do. Then, when the war ended, he went off to write fiction. “The Creed of Violence” Film Project Gets Financer

Cross Creek Pictures is now set to produce and finance Todd Field’s film adaptation of The Creed of Violence, based on the novel by Boston Teran.

The novel is set during the Mexican Revolution in 1910, as seen through the eyes of an assassin named Rawbone and a bureau agent named John Lourdes. They’re forced to work together to infiltrate an arms smuggling ring. (more…)

Deputy publisher Jon Wood purchased the UK/Commonwealth rights from Caspian Dennis. The novels are set to be released in 2013 and 2014. (more…)
